In Memory of Roy Clark

Last week, we lost a valued Wolak Group alumnus, Roy Clark.

Roy Clark came to The Wolak Group in 2004 and left a tremendous impact on all who knew him. He held many titles, including Vice President of Operations, Franchise Owner, Business Partner, and Trusted Friend. His kindness and dedication to his work was undeniable in his philanthropic endeavors and care for the communities we serve. Roy retired in 2016, dedicating his free time to hunting and tending to his beloved rose garden. His influence on the Company will be felt for years to come.

“Roy was a friend, colleague and valued business partner. He played a huge part in driving The Wolak Group’s philanthropy efforts. When he retired he left two huge shoes to fill.”

– Ed Wolak, Founder & CEO

“Roy set the bar for The Wolak Group and all franchisees when it came to giving back in the communities we shared, all while running the business in the most efficient way possible. He was friendly, charismatic and always wanted to see The Wolak Group succeed. Roy was a wonderful partner through and through. We have felt his absence since he retired, but we will be forever grateful for the time we had learning from him and working side by side.”

– Kimberly Wolak, President & Franchise Owner

“Roy came into my professional life when I was ready to grow. He was my mentor and taught me how to understand and navigate the Dunkin business. He allowed me to be me and to learn in my style even when it was not a style that he himself would ever use. I will always remember him fondly and am indebted to him for his guidance throughout the many years that I was on his team.”

Darlene Trepasso, Executive Director of Operating Systems and Staff Support

“When Roy introduced us to The Wolak Group, he made it so easy to become close friends with him and his wife, Debbie. He made sure that that my husband, David, and I got out once in a while while he and Debbie babysat our daughter, Jessica. He always treated us with kindness and always made sure there was ice cream when Jessica came to visit. It was never a dull moment when we were with him. I will miss him.”

– Leslie Brooks, Office/Accounting Assistant

“I met Roy in 2001 when Roy hired me into another company and when he joined The Wolak Group he brought me into The Wolak Group in 2006. He taught me to understand the business and was very instrumental in my growth in the Company and helping the Company grow. Roy became a good friend to our family over the years and was a very kind man. He helped us when we moved to New York to become comfortable in the area. I will always be grateful to Roy for being my mentor, helping me grow professionally and being a very good friend to my family.”

– David Brooks, Operations Assistant
